About the artist

Artist Temma Lee in her studio with a range of her original paintings

Hi, I’m Temma, an artist from the Sunshine Coast. When I was young, I created pop art designs with Posca pens on surfboards for a local surfboard factory. After a long break from sketching, I rediscovered my love for art after becoming a mother. Motherhood felt all-consuming, and I craved a creative outlet to reconnect with myself. That’s when I tried digital drawing for the first time.

My first piece was a family portrait. Soon after, a friend asked me to create one for her, then another friend of a friend, and before I knew it, my passion for digital art had blossomed into a fulfilling artistic venture.

Today, I create colourful paintings and digital pieces that celebrate the humour and heart of everyday Australian life. I’m also the illustrator of the Hot Chips children’s book series — bringing the same playful, cheeky Aussie spirit from my art to the page.
